In April of 1922, in a small corner of the Bronx in New York. There were curious questions about what might have happened to Mrs. Jennie Becker. A hardworking stay-at-home mother of four who fiercely loved her children. On April 6th, she and her husband, Abraham Becker, had attended a party together. On April 7th, Abraham was telling friends and family that Jennie had left with another man. She left her husband, kids, and life for a mystery man. She was never seen alive again. Was this a love triangle gone wrong, or is there something more sinister about? Let’s go over the case.

This is the first in our 12 days of Murder series. All Christmas-themed True Crime cases that you probably never heard of. This first case is called the Christmas Tree Murder Case. In Hornell, New York, on December 21st, 1925, Floyd Dennis was out cutting down a Christmas Tree for his family. Floyd didn’t ask the landowner if he could do this, and it started a confrontation that ended with murder!

Albert Latham came back from the great war in 1918 as a family hero. He saved his marriage with Gertrude Latham in the process, and they moved to a beautiful home in Binghamton, New York. On March 3rd, 1922, all of that had changed. Albert emerged from his home with a bullet wound to his head and hand, saying his wife tried to kill him. She was now dead…
